Visit the IHE PCD at Interoperability Showcase
- Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE)'s Patient Care Devices domain (PCD) will demonstrate standards-based interoperable communications. The PCD is cosponsored by ACCE, AAMI and HIMSS
- Take advantage of the opportunity to speak with some of the PCD conforming vendors; learn about the many types of data using standards-based messages which are vendor independent that are now available. The PCD maintains a list of companies that have commercially available, conforming devices and systems
- Learn about specifying and purchasing available devices and systems that actually speak the same language to send physiologic, alarm, and device data
- Learn about work underway, such as the ability to bind/unbind the device to the patient and to the patient's medical record
- Ask about how you can help set the PCD's priorities and assure that the resulting technical documents reflect your real clinical and device related needs
- Discuss interoperable messages that directly support clinical engineering: device condition and status information-information sent to CMMS systems (e.g., self-test results, battery condition, availability) along with location
- Discuss the User Handbook as well as work in process to meet additional clinical and CE needs such as medical device Cybersecurity
You can find more information about the IHE at www.ihe.net and about the PCD at http://www.ihe.net/Patient_Care_Devices/. You can actively participate in defining interoperable solutions by contacting pcd@accenet.org
