Body

I became a Certified Clinical Engineer after working in a hospital and joining ECRI Institute.  I wanted to show my clinical engineering colleagues that I value and respect our profession and to clearly communicate my commitment to clinical engineering.

We work in a medical community where almost all medical professionals are certified in their areas.  Having the certification makes us part of the “community of the certified” and shows the medical staff that we too believe in our profession and in continuing education.  It also helps us to communicate with each other.  When we see the “CCE” we know that person is committed to clinical engineering and has knowledge and competence in the field, regardless of what they may have studied in school.
