AAMI 2014 Conference

Clinical Engineering Symposium presented by ACCE

Leveraging Big Data in Clinical Engineering—How to Influence Healthcare Decision-Making and Advance Professionally
For decades clinical engineers have deployed and supported medical devices, clinical information systems, and medical device management systems that can generate stores of data. This data is largely an untapped resource. However, it can be unleashed and harnessed to support real-time decision support, increase patient safety, and provide cost-effective service delivery. This year’s symposium will explore the value proposition of big data in the clinical engineering field. It will review how clinical engineering leaders are applying analytics to develop business intelligence, present “use case scenarios” from hospitals around the country, and set a clear path for HTM and clinical engineering professionals to engage in big data analytics by identifying requirements, analytical tools, and educational opportunities.

Saturday, May 31, 2014, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Pennsylvania Convention Center, Philadelphia

Speakers:
Leveraging Big Data Keynote:
Carolyn McGregor, University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT)
